Today..

Today my heart is heavy.. As I think and reflect upon what has happened in Haiti, the lives lost, and the massive amounts of suffering, I think like anyone else would I suppose. What I can I do?? Me, by myself can do nothing but pray for these people. I think of how fortunate and blessed I am to live where I live, no earthquakes and in a blessed and prosperous area. I think of how all of us in America have become just plain selfish and hypocritical. Especially church people! Im sick of hearing "The Prosperity Gospel" Where we think we live in America and we deserve this and that. We don't deserve anything. Jesus deserves it all. Im sick of hearing heresy on T.V. and in churches across the nation that Christians are not supposed to suffer. We are called to suffer with Christ. If the apostles (who by the way.. all suffered and died for their faith) heard this crap they would all call us blasphemers! 2 Timothy 3:12 says it all..Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted... But I believe through all this, and what gives me hope for my life, and for the coming Kingdom is that God is sovereign over everything, and absolutely nothing passes through His hand.. And at the end of each day He will save the day, how HE chooses to save the day.. I am not one to question the Almighty and what happens. I just pray and do everything I can to help another human being that is suffering. Do not just look to Haiti. It could be your class mate or your next door neighbor. Find the hurting, and do what Jesus called you to do.. Help them...

What I Think About The Emergent Church

So.. I have been reading Why We're Not Emergent. To say the least it is a must read for young pastors and people who are in ministry. It has me thinking a lot about how church has changed over the past twenty years. And somehow, some of us have lost our way.. or (it's my opnion that they have lost their way.) The emergent church has become more and more popular over the past five or six years or so... Espescially with leaders like Rob Bell and Erwin Raphael McManus. The problem is, I guess I must just be a little old fashioned when I say I like to stick with scripture. Some of these leaders. (not saying it's the two mentioned above) but some have completely lost their way over the course of their ministry, or they may have never had the way at all. For these people to say that scripture is not the final authority and is just inspirational writings that we should live by is IMO blasphemous and not the truth. Also to say that God could somehow be a woman is kinda wrong to.. And the very mention of the virgin birth not being necessary IS WRONG! Well I have finished my ranting for now and I dont want to overload this post. So for now I will let you think about this... G'day!
