This issue has been on my heart for the last month or so. It is servitude and what have I been doing to serve God and my community. Well I can obviously tell that I have not been doing much! I have a new perspective on this issue after reading "Servolution" by Dino Rizzo. What have we been doing as a church to show the love of Jesus to our communities? I can tell that HighPointe Church is turning into an amazing place of worship because this is becoming our main and central purpose as a church. To serve Jesus without holding anything back! To start things off, this Friday night we are having our first community wide worship service called The Summit! We will be working with the local DHR and we will be accepting school supplies for the children who may be less fortunate, hoping to give some relief to parents who may be struggling financially. So come to The Summit for an awesome time in the presence of God and be ready to serve! After all, that is what Jesus has called us to do!Monday, July 20, 2009

Thorn in the flesh
Ouch!! Today I was reading in 2 Corinthians and I came across the story of Paul and the "thorn in the flesh". It does not mention what Paul's thorn was but it does mention that he hated it so much that he asked God to remove it three times. I was thinking, don't we all have our thorns? Something may be an illness or physical element about ourselves that hinders us. Just remember like 2 Corinthians says " My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" God gets the glory cause he always takes care of us!
